Locals Only Views at Corona Heights Park

I have no clue who these people and their dog are.  But it was an unbelievable day so everyone was happy to take a picture.  Let me know if you know them.  Maybe she lost my card.

gag me with a wedding…

…updated.

I’m sitting here watching “the wrestler”…and figured I’d post the sites of the wedding photographers that bubbled to the surface after I stumbled (literally) through hundreds of (largely painful crappy housewife1064×768 flash) wedding photographer sites.  nevertheless i’m considering doing it (again) and was trying to figure out what sucks and what doesn’t.  here’s what doesn’t.  dang if there’s a lot that DOES though.

Sloan

Chris + Lynn

Grace and Hun Kim

Scarlett Lillian (great work but i insist it’s rude to auto-play music on a web page)

Scott Hayne

Jerry Yoon

Benjamin Edwards

Rowell

Simply Bloom

If you’re planning a wedding, choose one of these and pay a lot of money cause they deserve it.  Or call me and I’ll try to imitate them.  Regardless, you won’t get some cheesy [!@#$!@#], soft focus and STUPID.

warm and cool. cool.

In the evening after sunset, whether you acknowledge it or not, light generally has a “cool” blue hue.  Tungsten light bulbs generally have “warm” orange cast and old-school flourescent tubes can have a green glow.  …or so it was the purpose of this assignment to show.

la LA land

Kickin it with Sis in LA.  Not really an assignment, just needed to practice using the off-camera flash.

death by cubicle

well, it took four months and four hours but post number one of 2010 is finally here.  this was for “concepts” class.  the concept was to express “fear.”  what you see represents my biggest fear.

digital final redux

water, night, exposed

…my digital photo final project…as originally submitted.  I told the teacher I wished there were people in them.  She told me to go back and try again…with people in them.  Dangit.

what have we done?

About halfway through the semester I backed my way into a final project proposal where I stated I’d depict the recent presence of humans…using the various formal and narrative techniques (theoretically) learned in class.  I think they look a lot better printed.  That’s still not saying much.  Some straight up bore me.  Mostly just posted here for historical documentation.  Looking forward to getting better, tightening up my technique–and narrowing my purpose in photography.  First class of first semester down.
